All Members,
I am pleased to report that SB 95 passed the House yesterday by a vote of 96-0. It now goes back to the Senate today for final action and then onto the Governor for his signature. Thanks again to all of you who worked so hard on this Bill. Thanks again also to Senator Fred Quayle, Delegates Jones and Carrico for the enormous effort they put forth on our behalf. I know many of you have taken the time to thank the members of the Appropriations Committee. It is very much appreciated and will pay additional dividends in the future. Still no word on the budget. I met with a number of Senators yesterday, two of whom are conferees. According to them the progress is slow and no one is sure whether the conferees will conclude their work in time for the scheduled adjournment date, this Saturday. We will have to wait and see.
