The Virginia State Police Association created the Emergency Relief Fund to provide emergency relief to members of the Department of State Police and other law enforcement officers and their families who experience a personal crisis and have nowhere else to turn. Because of your generous support each year in this tournament, the VSPA and our generous co-sponsors, Food City, W&L Construction and Secure Virginia PAC have made it possible to assist families of area law enforcement officers when the need has arisen. Since this tournament's inception in 1998, in excess of $200,000.00 has been raised and distributed to families and organizations that support the law enforcement community. All proceeds from this year's tournament will benefit Senior Trooper Mitch Brown’s 14 year old son Mitchell. Mitchell has Autism and was recently diagnosed with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy which is a fatal genetic disease. He is now being fitted for a powered wheel-chair. Proceeds from the event will assist the Brown family in purchasing a wheelchair accessible van. We urge and encourage you to assist us with a team or tax-deductible hole sponsorship.
