Sergeant Nicholas William Koslicki

November 4, 1980 ~ May 1, 2022 (age 41)




With great sadness, the Virginia State Police Association announces the death of Sergeant Nicholas William Koslicki.  Sergeant Nicholas William Koslicki, 41, passed away on May 1, 2022 as a result of a tragic boating accident.  The Virginia State Police Association, in behalf of our Members, send our sincere condolences to the Koslicki Family. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Koslicki Family


Sergeant Nicholas William Koslicki was born on November 4, 1980 in Buffalo, New York. He was also known as “Koz,” “Spartatookus,” “Porky Pie,” and “Redneck” to all those who loved him, but especially “Daddy” to his daughter Scarlett and his fur babies, Bruin and Gunner.


Nick was a devoted husband to the love of his life, Ashley, and a loving father to their daughter, Scarlett. He was a Sergeant with the Virginia State Police, United States Marine Corps veteran and a true gun & bourbon enthusiast; Nick loved fast machines and was a consummate adventurist. He was fiercely loyal to all those he loved and was always ready to enjoy every moment to its fullest with his beloved family and friends. Nick was larger than life and enjoyed every minute with his huge smile, while consuming chicken wings, chips, and cookies.


He is survived by his loving wife, Ashley A. Koslicki; newborn daughter Scarlett D. Koslicki; son-by-choice Thomas C. Schaeffer; and son Caleb M. Reed. He is also survived by his mother, Gail D. Beyer; father Darwin D. Koslicki (Cheryl); siblings Chris Francy, Daniel Koslicki (Tracy), and Kent Morehouse (Jessica); several stepbrothers and sisters; aunts and uncles; father and mother-in-law Donald and Rhonda Charpentier; brother-in-law Jason Charpentier (Hailey); sister-in-law Tracy Carter (Bill); and several nieces and nephews were also near and dear to Nick’s heart. 


He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Richard Beyer and Daniel Koslicki; grandmother Dorothy Koslicki; brother Andrew Koslicki; uncle Richard Beyer; cousin Daniel Koslicki; and beloved dogs Shadow, Jack, Brock, Donnie, and Sabre.


The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 p.m. on Thursday, May 5, 2022 at Spotswood Baptist Church. A service will be held at 12 p.m. on Friday, May 6 at the University of Mary Washington, Anderson Center. Interment will take place at 10 a.m. on Monday, May 9 in Quantico National Cemetery.
