Welcome From The President

January, 2021.

I am Roy Kyle, President of the Virginia State Police Association, and I want to introduce you to the Association’s 2020 - 2022 Board of Directors and welcome you to the Association's official website.

2020 - 2022 Board of Directors

2nd row standing: David Ostwinkle, SPHQ; Ronnie Miller, DIV VI; Joshua Korson, DIV VII; Leroy Dabney, DIV V; Howard Cook, DIV I;
Glenn Smith, DIV III; Dennis Dodson, DIV II; and Will Carrico, DIV IV.

The members of the Virginia State Police Association Board of Directors work tirelessly to serve those who serve and protect us all - the men and women of the Virginia State Police.  This Board administers the Virginia State Police Association General Fund to serve as a liaison between the Membership and the Superintendent of State Police; to provide Representation in Administrative Matters; to provide Representation to the General Assembly; to provide Scholarships  for Members and for Children of Members; to conduct an Annual Conference consisting of Informational Seminars and an Annual Family Picnic; to communicate with the Membership through traditional means and by social media including the VSPA Website and Facebook Pages; to provide a Death Benefit that provides a benefit for the loss of Members, Spouses and Children; and we provide additional benefits including assistance during illnesses and deaths including line of duty deaths.  Of great significance, is the fact that the Virginia State Police Association is the only organization that represents Virginia State Police Troopers in the General Assembly.  The Virginia State Police Association is always present during the General Assembly and throughout the year to represent the best interest of Virginia State Police Troopers and the communities that our Troopers serve.

This Board also administers the Virginia State Police Emergency Relief Fund, a 501(C)3 charitable organization, and thereby provides emergency relief to members of the Department of State Police and other law enforcement officers and their families who experience a personal crisis and have nowhere else to turn.  This Board and the Emergency Relief Fund also provide Trooper Teddy Bears for Virginia State Police Troopers to use to comfort children throughout Virginia who have experienced a traumatic event.
